Have you ever found yourself intellectually disoriented? Perhaps you’ve been in a place that didn’t have a name – where the rules of no identifiable tradition seemed to apply, and there was no way to apply existing logic to this space. Have you ever been stuck there? If so, you know what it is to be radically rootless.

This blog features thoughts on ethics, religion, culture and life from an estranged spiritualist who has made an uncomfortable home for himself in secular lands. My story is complicated, and I trust it will emerge gradually over the course of the blog. Along the way, I’ll be exploring regret, longing, alienation, modernity, Christianity, suffering, paradox, technology, secularism, philosophy, and beauty, among many others. I’ll be putting them into dialogue with cinema, television, music, video games, and literature.
